In 2024, Woolworths moved to a 100% interest in the PFD business, bringing PFD exciting opportunities as a strategic part of the Group. Sharing expertise across both teams will ensure our continued success and drive further growth and unlock our collective potential.

About this Position

At PFD, we bring people together through food. Behind every café breakfast, school canteen, and restaurant service is a team supported by technology that works seamlessly.

As our Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the core IT platforms that power our business. From Windows services and cloud environments to enterprise integrations with Salesforce and Informatica, you’ll be part of a team transforming our systems to meet the needs of a fast-growing, modern business.

This is a role for someone who thrives in balancing technical problem-solving with strategic planning, helping shape the roadmap while keeping our platforms secure, resilient, and humming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 3rd-level support across enterprise infrastructure and core Windows services.
  • Design, configure, and secure virtualisation platforms (VMware/ESXi/RDS).
  • Lead cloud migration projects across Azure and AWS.
  • Manage and harden core infrastructure: O365, Active Directory/Azure AD, DHCP/DNS, DFS, file/print, backup, and endpoint security.
  • Enable identity and access management, including SSO, federation, and privileged identity management.
  • Deliver integrations with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce and Informatica.
  • Oversee lifecycle management, patching, and vulnerability remediation across systems.
  • Contribute to the IT roadmap, ensuring our platforms are current, reliable, and future-ready.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

  • Deep expertise in Windows core services and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Strong cloud experience, especially with Microsoft Azure (AWS highly regarded).
  • Proven skills in lifecycle management, patching, and securing enterprise systems.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware, SCCM, Intune, and enterprise integration tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the initiative to solve complex problems independently.
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work across a diverse team of engineers, SMEs, and vendors.

Bonus Skills: Salesforce or Informatica exposure, scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash), and relevant certifications (Azure, AWS, VMware, ITIL).

What Success Looks Like

  • A stable, resilient, and secure platform that “just works.”
  • Infrastructure kept patched, current, and free from vulnerabilities.
  • Seamless integration of core systems with Salesforce, Informatica, and warehouse platforms.
  • A clear, future-ready roadmap aligned to PFD’s IT strategy.
  • Demonstrated reduction in backlog and uplift of our infrastructure to modern standards.
