Data Governance Senior Analyst

Purpose

To operationalise data governance across the organisation’s analytics environment—ensuring data is accurate, secure, well-defined, and responsibly managed. The role translates policy into practice across tools like Informatica, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, dbt, and BI platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Framework Enablement: Translate policies into practical tools and coordinate governance forums
  • Metadata & Cataloguing: Curate glossaries, drive lineage/classifications, maintain tagging conventions
  • Data Quality Management: Define and automate DQ rules, monitor SLAs, triage issues
  • Integration & Transformation Controls: Apply governance in Informatica, ADF, Databricks, dbt
  • Risk, Privacy & Compliance: Conduct PIAs, ensure APPs compliance
  • Change & Training: Create playbooks, run enablement sessions
  • Reporting: Maintain governance scorecards and domain health reports

Key Competencies, Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary degree in Information Systems, Data/Computer Science or equivalent
  • Desirable certifications: Azure, Databricks, dbt, Informatica, Collibra, IAPP
  • 3–6 years in data governance/data quality
  • Hands-on with at least two of: Informatica, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, dbt
  • Strong SQL and data modelling knowledge
  • Experience with data catalogs (Purview, Collibra, Alation) and lineage tools
  • Proven DQ automation and privacy/security understanding
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
